If you are on a Mac OS X system like a MacBook Air and you have all your data sharing via iCloud, here’s how you could theoretically sidestep the Code Generator challenge. There is a way to sidestep the Code Generator request from Facebook if you’re either on a Mac system with iMessage set up or an AT&T device with its cool NumberSync system enabled, because in both cases you’ll get text messages sent to your phone showing up on your tablet or computer. But that’s kind of the point, and whether it’s done through an SMS text message that contains a secret code or the “decoder ring program” that is Facebook’s Code Generator utility, you’re going to have a tough time without your S7 or other smartphone in hand.
